What always strikes me about this topic is that the definition of success is as individual as there are people in this world, because everyone has different objectives that pave the way to personal success. The definition of corporate success is usually understood to mean the positive performance of the balance sheet and the income statement. But how are the upstream processes defined that lead to a successful result? Here I see great potential to achieve sustainable success. Positive performance is realised exclusively through the set of appropriate skills of the employees needed to achieve the goals of the corporate strategy. These employees all have their individual goals and ideas for a successful life. The task here is to orchestrate these circumstances with each other in such a way that the amount of compromise on both sides does not lead to a sick feeling of loss, which in return would have a negative impact on the performance. The organism of a company can be compared very well with the organism of a human being. In the healthy state, the focus is on “the sky is the limit”, while the sick state pursues completely different inner goals. These challenges need to be mastered through positive leadership, so that sustainable success is made possible thanks to the healthy state.
So…
- Understand and formulate your strategy
- Understand your market and your customers
- Understand all your employees
- Be the conductor who leads this orchestra with respect and empathy
….so that you inspire with honesty, trust and authenticity.
P.S.: The key lies in value-creating communication!
I look forward to your experiences and additions in the comments.
Many thanks & best regards
