How is it supposed to go on?

Have you ever had that desperate feeling that comes when your profit and loss account is gradually sinking into the basement and all your efforts just don’t seem to work to increase that vital turnover?

I was allowed to deal with this issue very intensively…

โ“ The request from the supervisory board came shortly before Christmas. “Can you help us? In your Master’s thesis you dealt with Controlling… that might be of good useโ€ฆ we have a major issueโ€ฆ!”.

๐Ÿ” The initial situation was quite complex and entangled. The prospects of how the company could continue to survive economically were uncertain. The business processes were split between two companies. The partner was responsible for the entire global and regulated business side and now terminated the cooperation. However, the experience and competences on how to serve the market were not available at the company. How should this continue?

๐Ÿ“Š I got the relevant data and analysed it and compared it with the international market. I had to create a perspective for the future and I had to do it very quickly. With my rather conservative calculation, I was able to create a scenario that seemed credible and gave the desired glimmer of hope. With my finished ๐Ÿ“business case, I was able to convince the supervisory board and they offered me to implement this project myself.

I was more than convinced by the business case and ๐Ÿคagreed.

Everyone looked at me with wide and questioning eyes when I introduced myself as the new CEO.

๐Ÿ‘‰ I took my time to get to know all the employees. I sensed the stress that the company culture was under in these aforementioned circumstances. But at the same time, I realised that each employee had a wonderful and valuable gift. Each in their own way. I was convinced: “These gifts will realise the success of the company”.

๐Ÿ‘‰ I created a project plan for the implementation of the business case. It was very important to me to define the objectives with the relevant task packages in a structured way, in order to then match them with the appropriate resources. The goal was clear: we want to achieve it!

It was an exciting and intensive implementation phase. The goal was ambitious and we always had it in front of our eyes. With joint forces, we achieved the turnaround. An absolute ๐Ÿ‘tour de force!

๐Ÿ™ Today I look back on this time with great pleasure, humility and gratitude and I am still incredibly proud of all the employees. We had the right spirit, the motivation, the drive and the sense of togetherness.

Most importantly, we were always able to supply the customers with the products and never had an out of stock situation!

๐Ÿ“Œ With the right mindset, the right communication and the right power of persuasion, a change can be implemented to write another chapter for the future.

I would be happy to share my knowledge and help you with your challenges.

Send me your story… I will be happy to get back to you asap.

Best regards

Stephan
