This is an exciting question, which I believe needs to be asked again and again, especially in the SME leadership environment and within different organisational responsibilities. In this context, I see the ability to reflect honestly and an understanding of consequences as very important parameters. In an environment with strong leadership, I am inspired by the dedicated mechanisms of action of the leadership personality, communication skills and confidence-building abilities, whereas in an environment with weak leadership, what are the root causes and how do I get to the former?
οΏ½ Why is this question so effective?
β Because it helps us to reflect on ourselves. Responsible leadership builds a reality on various levels in which the causalities between employees, customers and the organisation enable a value proposition for sustainable development prospects. In order for this complex structure to function, all available skills must be activated and empowered as far as possible. This happens when clarity, respect and trust are lived and exemplified by leadership. We need to distance ourselves from interfering micromanagement and create the freedom to face the challenges together.
β If furthermore the vision and strategy, an authentic story, healthy communication, effective development measures and the contributions of employees can be integrated into the decision-making process, this will create traction that inspires and enthuses.
π€ Then it won’t be a question of “why should I follow you as a leader?”, but rather “what a great job we did as a team!“.
π― I am convinced that with this perspective, a leadership initiative can be created where leadership can be lived as a π₯ service for people.
How do you experience this question? I look forward to an exciting dialogue with you and will be happy to assist you as a sparring partner.
Take care & best regards
