Integrative leadership in an SME

In the SME environment, I am constantly faced with the question of how best to shape #leadership and the associated organisational and market orientation. The challenge of mastering the tasks set in a small team across the board is not only an additional challenge for the employees, but also for a supportive leadership initiative.

๐Ÿ” This lies in horizontal and vertical in-depth specialisation. In order to lead successfully within this range, it is important to like, understand and encourage them.

๐Ÿ“Œ I believe that flat hierarchies provide a clear advantage in terms of performance efficiency. Steep silos, on the other hand, are unsuitable and make joint development more difficult.

The #transformation from steeply managed silos to value-driven layers refers to the shift in organisational structure and culture away from isolated, hierarchical departments to a more inclusive approach based on value creation and collaboration.

โŒ Steep silos are metaphorical barriers between departments or teams that hinder the flow of information and thus impair collaboration.

โœ” In my experience, fostering open communication, establishing common goals and incentives, and creating structures and processes can make collaboration so much easier.

๐Ÿ” To concretise…

…this topic, for me the essence of successful leadership lies in the design of a mutually enriching and learning understanding of the culture, strategy and processes of the SME.

This prerequisite empowers and integrates people in the organisation and promotes a culture of willingness, which in turn positively supports the implementation of the strategy.

๐ŸŽฏ If we want to achieve our goals as a team, the meaningfulness of our work and the role model function of leadership must inspire.

What are your experiences and challenges with leadership in an SME? I look forward to an exciting dialogue with you. I am also happy to support you as a sparring partner.

Take care & best regards

Stephan
